Hope everyone learns from this. My dude Tavis Smiley breaks it down. As soon as PBS got wind of the alleged sexual allegations, they went BEHIND HIS BACK and called his former employees and asked them "Has Tavis ever made you feel uncomfortable". Then dropped his show with the quickness without even consulting him first :francis:

Hilarious, the same company he spent nearly 20 years with, gave his blood sweat and tears with does him like that. Just a reminder, these CACs don't give a fukk about you in their workplace. They plotting on you 24/7

This is the wakeup call that's needed so we can start more Black businesses. Either create one, or support/invest in one. If you ain't doing either, then shame on you :manny:

It’s one thing to be black, it’s another thing to be black and a non money generator.

If you generate money like Bill o Reilly they will protect you to an extent. But PBS isn’t in the money making business so it was easy for them.

:francis:I mean...if you are a prominent black owned business, are you not also inclined to figure out of siding with a supposed sexual deviant will severely hurt your business?

Yes, it is fukked up that he is in this position, but think of all the mothafukkas ready to give PBS that work for standing with him.

Assuming you are black owned, are you in a position to weather a media firestorm any better than PBS could if they stood with him? That said, if he isn't a cash cow, you know

how that shyt goes. They did him wrong, but fact is folks getting the breaks beat off the reputation right now and Tavis isn't immune to it.

The only reason why Bill was initially protected was because his boss was a scumbag too

The problem is they're making shyt fit the current climate. I still haven't heard any actual misconduct on his part. All I've heard was that he was having relationships and talking bad about execs. Nothing like groping or sexual abuse.

No, I got it. And i'm thinking "In a climate where sexual assault allegations are getting major bad press, is there any asset(talent) too sacred to shelve while this blows over?"

shyt sucks, especially since he wasn't proven to be guilty of anything, but since when has proof ever been needed to crucify a man in the court of public opinion?

Again it fukking sucks, but was PBS supposed to stand with him and potentially weather a storm? Mind you, PBS is funded greatly by viewers:francis:when that next

drive come through and the "We don't support rape sympathizers" start making noise...Again, I saw your point, but I think about EVERYTHING, not just the feelings of the
one entity. If I was running PBS, I don't know about the snooping, but shelving him temporarily would not be off the table.

Yeah my point was obviously PBS was gonna investigate this. And obviously a possible shelving of the TV program was imminent. But the process they did with him shines a light on the shady shyt they did. Literally went behind his back and ask suggestive questions to his personal colleagues about him, plus have no contact with him until he took legal action, then they were forced to talk to him. That's a little shady for an employee who was working with them for 20 years. Sounds like 100% shadiness and 0% trust IMO

Tavis being investigated and the show being suspended isn't a surprise

We saying the same thing, fam. Yea, all that behind the back shyt...you know they were calling and looking into shyt and told him nothing until after they made the decision.
It's in poor taste and even if they see the light, he has every reason to take his platform elsewhere. You don't make it 20 years as a brotha unless you got public trust, so he should
go at them for what he can and explore his options. He might very well have to start his own shyt, however, in which case we are in agreement.

It's a messed up situation all around right now on these sexual harassment cases.

I find it disturbing that there's isn't any real due process for the accused. It feels more like a witch hunt than actually trying to get to the bottom of whatever happened, establish the facts, and then making an informed decision on how to punish the guilty. :manny::manny::manny:

I'm sure some of these brehs straight creeps out here with how they move, but even creeps deserve their day in court. Otherwise we're wrecking people's lives on hearsay and innuendo and gossip. I can't get with that. :hubie:

But once those facts are established, and you got real sworn testimony and corroborating witnesses or multiple accusers? Bring the hammer down.:ufdup:
