So she remade one of her albums and has the sound down to a T from the first?! And now streaming platforms gonna use this as the go to...She really out there winning and stopping others from making money from her :ohhh:

Industry gonna change after this, labels that own an artists music wont let them re-record shyt for 100 years after this.

they can't just make arbitrary rules. the rules for re-recording and selling music are written already they would have to be changed. a ton of artists do this the difference is they don't have her budgets for the re-recording or digital platforms that will push the newer versions over the old. if they really do that for her then she has inside help the game hasn't changed just privilege privileging

NY all day..Da Stead & BK..
Yea DMX is the first one I knew who tried this. It’s just REALLY hard to recapture that magic as an emcee especially. Maybe as a singer it’s a lil easier.

Well as she wrote all her songs she has a say where her older stuff is played. She has flat out said no to films and commercials for her old stuff so the people that own the masters cant make money if she keeps saying no them being used commercially but with the re-recorded stuff she will allow to be used, and make 100% profit.

Swift can say to Apple, Spotify etc. Pull the old stuff and play my re-recorded only or future music I wont put on your platform, she has that much of a following that its in Apple and Spotify interest to play the new stuff.

I thought the rules for re-recording were just in the contract you sign, hers said she cant re-make them until 10 years. That has passed and she is doing just that. Contract language can change and lablels that own the masters can change that time line to more than 10 years

I guess in her case it’s possible. I was thinking about it in people like Cam’s case. He sounds completely different than he did in 2002. Julez and Beans features would be even worse. Jim is the only one that probably could recreate that same 02 feeling but even he would have a problem.

The more your whole manner, voice, approach and on weighs in your music the less possibilities there is for this. Rap is probably the worst genre for it. In other genres, as long as you retain your voice you might be able to replicate it.

Listening to old dispet you don’t even have to speak the language to understand the mood they are in
