:wow::wow::wow: I feel it is time to make that jump. Looking into this teach English overseas thing

1. How much are you paid and what expense do they cover?

2. Do you have the option of staying on longer?

3. What do you need?

Never made the jump, but did seriously consider. Most places cover your ticket and board.
From what I remember:

clean criminal background
a passport
degree or toefl certificate

brazil is not for short term money unless you have connections. long term you can eat, but you need to establish yourself, and that takes time

it takes a while to dig in to the networks there, and work visas are a bytch. most money is under the table, so you gotta have a good fallback plan

also...learn portuguese

go to the czech republic, they prefer americans to brits for some reason and you can get paid. or korea, you can get serious bread there. but it's a country with a lot of american military members that get into too much fukkery, so there's some resentment. altho the average korean is a cool motherfukker from what i've seen

How can I sign up to teach English in Korea. I'm trying to stop living here in the flabby and sick version of modern USA. I have a good job; but hate the country!

I've been thinking about this as well. For most places you will need a BA but for some places you can get by with just a TESOL Certificate, for instance in China a lot of places will let you teach with just the certificate.

I've heard many great things and plan on looking into it after college. Like someone else said I'm bored of the US at the moment and always wanted to travel so why not make money while doing it.

I'm trying to do this but there are so many programs, they all can't be legit.

From the little background that I've done, the consensus is Korea pays the most.

I was just looking into this..and other things like the peace corps etc...Still working on that bachelors though :sadcam: Many of those programs, you have to fit your own bill for transportstion to and back ($3,000 was usually the norm) but hey, if you got it, why not :yeshrug:
