Lol What? It's obvious you're arguing just to argue at this point.
Most people believe he is a superstar player. How can he be better than most people believe? So he's a top 5 player?
No, most people don't believe he's a superstar player. Where are you getting this from. Much of the praise he receives is from the media. Do you even read fan comments? How many people in your barbershop are talking about how good Draymond Green is? How many people have you seen on this forum praise Green instead of the opposite? You would have to be ignorant to reality to think he's widely being called some superstar. Just read this thread
They were never top 15 players. There were easily 15 players better than Rodman, and 30 players better than Wallace. Rodman benefited from playing with Isiah and Jordan. Wallace benefited from playing on a stacked pistons team. They were both good defenders and rebounders.
No, they were top 15 players in their best seasons. Anybody can throw out numbers - I want you to name 15 players better than Rodman in 1992 and 30 players better than Wallace in 2004.
They weren't good defenders. They were all time great defensive players and rebounders. As in they belong on a list of the greatest to ever play this game on a side of the court.
Nope. All the top 15 players in the NBA are first options. The NBA is a scoring league, this isn't hockey. And no, Green is not the best defender in the game. Far from it in fact.
No, it is not. This is a team game. The players who impact a team the most are the best in this league.
Green is the best defender in the game. If I told you there was a defender who held opponents to 6.1% lower their than shooting average while defending the most attempts in the game by a huge margin, was an elite paint protector, was an elite post defender, was able to switch on anybody from Kyrie to Harden to LeBron and hold their own legitimately defending 1-5 and a strong communicator you would call them the best defender in the game. It's only because of who he is and how unorthodox he plays that you don't appreciate him defensively.
again, watch this video
but ahead and explain why he's far from the best
You described him as one.
It's on you my description sounds like a superstar, because everything I've said about him is on point
Which is why he's overrated. People think he's a star because of the system but he is just a role player.
No, he's a star. You don't have a good grasp of his talents if you think the system is why he's that good. I'm still waiting for you to answer my question on what those videos have to do with a system. The Warriors aren't the only team in this league to run an motion offense. The Warriors WITHOUT Curry and Draymond as the primary facilitator played very well in the playoffs, better than you probably thought he could.
No, they won a series without Curry and took two from Portland with those performances I posted but you're ducking.
and Green was the best player on the court in game 7 of the Finals. In that game he did what he could for them to win the title. It's not his fault Curry and Klay were terrible. If they were passable or Barnes hits but a few of his wide open shots he is the Finals MVP
In other words, you can't break down your own argument.
I ask you to explain yourself and you reply with one word, excellent
So?
The point is they are an 8th seed without him, so how does Green make them what they already are?
Because he makes their horrible defense well above average, gives Harden another safety valve in the P&R, someone who will actually set screens with effort as opposed to Dwight who hated the dude and someone who can run a 4/5 P&R like Josh Smith did back in '15 when the Rockets were actually good. They become a good defense and their already great offense becomes much better.
If you can't see why he makes the Rockets better I cannot help you dude
Exactly what they are now.
What? What they are now is lottery team that hinges on Anthony Davis dominating on both ends of the floor at a historical rate just to come even close to making the playoffs. Green takes a ton of pressure off him on both ends of the floor, can help facilitate that offense and Gentry understands how to use him having coached him.
They are already a contender. Injuries made them an 8th seed last year.
False. The Rockets had just as many injury woes in 2015. What actually happened is Harden started the year poorly, their chemistry was awful and their defense was incredibly disorganized as they lacked someone to organize and communicate assignments. That is Draymond's to a T
Again, you keep naming teams that don't need Green. You're proving my point. Green is a role player who can add another piece to a team that's already good, but he would do nothing on a franchise altering level. Therefore, he is not a star or a top 15 player.
Of course they need Green. What on earth would make you think a team with a shyt defense doesn't need a guy who's finished runner up to DPOY two straight years (and should have won, but that's a separate argument). His impact would be franchise altering because they could legit contend in the conference as opposed to now where they're food.
Are you familiar with their coach? The pieces the Blazers have? It is a very, very good fit. They actually try to emulate what the Warriors have done. They need a Draymond Green to make it work.
