mrspoonsi sends news that a group of major tech companies has combined to donate $750 million worth of gadgets and services to students in 114 schools across the U.S. Apple is sending out $100 million worth of iPads, MacBooks, and other products. O'Reilly Media is making $100 million worth of educational content available for free. Microsoft and Autodesk are discounting software, while Sprint and AT&T are offering free wireless service. This is part of the ConnectED Initiative, a project announced by the Obama Administration last year to bring modern technology to K-12 classrooms. The FCC has also earmarked $2 billion to improve internet connectivity in schools and libraries over the next two years. Obama also plans to seek funding for training teachers to utilize this infusion of technology.

So you salute businesses throwing money at things you clearly state can't be fixed by throwing money at it,
but then you shyt on the public sector for doing the same thing?
I know you see no difference between private entities voluntarily throwing their money at good causes, and govt. taking tax money and throwing it at problems, but they are not the same thing.

So throwing money, goods and services at consistently failing & underprivileged schools by private entities is a 'good cause'
but throwing money, goods and services at consistently failing & underprivileged schools by the state is a 'problem'?

I'm starting to understand the libertarian line of thought...

While they do this supposed nice thing. they are also doing this behind closed doors.

part of the reason they give away their products is to get the younger generation even more hooked on their stuff early in life. so once they grow up. they wont know how to survive without it. So you can lose a couple of dollars with your giveaway today and gain billions in the future.

thats correct. they are damned even if they do. but less damned then if they didnt. Sorry no free cookies for a corp making billions off of shady labor, and over charging for their products based on their real worth(not capitalistic market value.so dont even go there dead7)

oh did i forget to add "its a Tax write off." haa haa.

So for those students that need the tech. Great. if its used properly in the classrooms and for students.

Yet both are trying to fix a problem that supposedly cant be fixed by throwing money at it, right? Which is my original point.
I already read how hard y’all shyt on the LA school system for doing ultimately the same thing these businesses are doing.
But like I said, gov't initiative get nothing but ridicule, but donations gets praise and thought of that it will make a difference, simply because private entities are doing it.

Which is bullshyt.
