He should’ve realized once the school started winning that opposing coaches would be looking to get him out the way.
He didn’t do himself any favors by going on online and announcing how much money he’s had to spend to take care of those kids. He should’ve just fundraised quietly.
Even though it’s the right thing to do, he’s coaching at a public school so other coaches look at it as he’s got an unfair advantage because he’s spending thousands that they don’t have.
That’s not his fault

and if he’s a volunteer I don’t think they really touch him unless he’s giving kids cash in hand for them playing football, which would be hard to prove.
The school, on the other hand, can be penalized, which is why they suspended him. It’s all BS since it’s about trying to help kids who actually need it. Private schools provide the same services (and better) to their kids but they just call it donations by “boosters”.
The complexion for the protection
Teddy should organize a booster club with his NFL contacts for the school and keep everything above board. Just gotta read the rule book and find the loopholes.
