It's gotta be the "coolness" factor because Facebook owns IG so if they were getting a check it would come from the same spot.
That's the only reason.

The thing is, IG can still be used to funnel people to where ever they put these on. I typically see all of the updates for these battles on my Facebook timeline, people talk about who's battling and the time it starts etc. If they put these up on Youtube or Facebook, people would go there. Twitch would be the hardest to get general people to convert to, because a lot of the people who are checking for these aren't privy to Twitch.

IG and Facebook is going to fukk around and open the door for someone else to come in and really make this into an A1 production and really elevate this experience. The platforms already exist too, so we'll see.

:dahell:

Does Swizz and Timbaland have some kind of deal with Instagram for these to be on their platform?

:wtf:

I said it during the T-Pain and Lil Jon battle, but it's clear that IG from a technical standpoint is the worst platform that they are doing these on.

IG has to be giving them some bread, because outside of the social aspect of IG, these really would be way better on Youtube, Twitch or even Facebook. IG has the most "cool" clout in the Social Media category, but everybody has and knows how to use Youtube and Facebook, so why aren't they using those platforms for these instead? I'm positive that the people participating in these would appreciate being able to hook up mics, and their audio systems directly to the stream. And I'm positive that viewers would rather stream the competitions and listen to high quality audio on their TVs and home entertainment systems.

:snoop:
I think Facebook doesn’t allow for two people to live stream at the same time anymore. And I don’t know if YouTube Live has that feature, but I think the main users who use live there are there for stuff like gaming. Instagram does have the two people live stream and it’s more of an entertainment platform than the others.

Yeah, I'm looking it up now.

You can do it on Youtube with Hangouts (quality is 720p), or you have to use a 3rd party option like OBS and Skype/Zoom and configure it.

Facebook has some feature that does it, but after looking at what the options are, IG is the easiest for anybody to just hop on and do a live stream.

But since this is supposed to be a series that Swizz and Timbo are doing, and audio quality matters... in order to get the best results, they'd have to hire a few people to just configure the stream settings for the participants, design an overlay for the stream with just general info scrolling on the screen etc... I mean the blueprint has been here for years with how video game streaming is... that's all they need to do.
