I guess I understand her overall point that majority of the US does not follow Tennis because of the competition of other sports that take up alot of attention in the National media

But at the same time, seems tone deaf as hell to overlook the logistics and the cost to watch a Tennis match in a foreign country. Sh*t, even if you are in that country, it is not easy to watch a live match. Interesting comment by her :patrice::manny:

Nobody gives a shyt about tennis, lady.

You don't see Curling players bytching about international support. They know the reality of their sport.

I usually watch women's tennis for the sounds they make when they hit the ball

Can the average American afford it? No, but the rich and famous can.

Why don’t we see more Americans when they are abroad attending tennis matches in support of the American tennis player? Yea, other countries support them but it would probably be nice to see a few American flags in the stands.

:mjlol:

Yea flying from one small ass EU country like Romania to London is distance wise the same as flying from New York to Miami....except literally right now you can get Romania to London round trip for $38.

Right now Miami to New York.....same dates is $82.

A Romanian will have much cheaper and easier time doing a 2-3 weekend trip to some random EU or even Asian's based tourney than an American would have doing a trip for Indian Wells or the Miami Open.

edit:

After seeing her clarification, I kind've get it. But I don't think any American athlete, outside of boxing, and even then I feel that's moreso for black boxers.......should expect that type of fanaticism within the U.S. outside of the "world" tournaments.

I think that type of pride & fandom is reserved across the board, so in that aspect she is right.

Eventually I'll hit up Wimbledon & the AO......

I say this as someone who tried to get a U-S-A chant started for Tiafoe at the US Open vs Alcaraz.

I'd rock some Coco, Tiafoe, Townsend, Shelton merch with some USA branding on it.

Maybe I'll feel different once I'm actually in that foreign atmosphere but :mjlol: I don't see myself rocking a standalone USA flag.

The 314 comments with them responding negatively or at least lukewarm to this tweet says different. Sounds like you didn't even click on the tweet. Nice dap fish though
