Maryland basketball staves off Ohio State, 77-71

Three things to know

  1. Maryland is off to its best start in program history. This has been true after the team’s last three victories, but it gets more impressive with each passing win. Maryland simply wasn’t expected to be this good, and regardless of valid strength of schedule complaints, this is something to be celebrated.
  2. Justin Jackson spurred Maryland’s offense again. He was 5-for-5 from three against Minnesota, leading the Terps with a career-high 28 points. He was back in that same form on Tuesday, and Maryland needed every bit of it. With five minutes left, he was still the only player in double figures for the Terps.
  3. Maryland won another close game. Yep, it happened again. The Terps had double-digit leads a few times, but once Ohio State narrowed the lead to four, it stayed close.

Didn't even realize they played today. Yeah, the freshman have been coming along strongly the last few games. Imagine if Rob Carter and/or Diamond Stone ain't go pro. I just hope this kicks off a trend recruiting wise, where we're always in the conversation, with the talent in the area there's no reason we shouldn't ever be in the convo.

To be fair I don't think they would have the same chemistry had Rob or Diamond stayed. The defensive rotations wouldn't be as crisp as they are now.

Also shoutout to coach Durkin and the football staff for this years recruiting class. Both teams have Bright future

Cekovsky came back recently which is huge

We been playing small a lot this year. Was at the Indiana game and we couldn't get rebounds at all

Yall sleeping on those Canadians. He was a 4 star recruit as a junior when he went to school in Nevada, #26 in the nation but then he went back to Canada his senior year and recruiting sites don't really include non-American players. He had some big offers though Zona, Oregon, Louisville, Baylor, Indiana, Pitt, Florida
