Elon Musk Says Tesla Model 3 Will Cost $35,000 Before Incentives | Tesla Motors

  • - Tesla will be "first to market with autonomous features." But people should be concerned about the safety of self-driving cars. To Musk's mind, fully autonomous vehicles will only happen when automakers can prove to consumers that they're 10 times safer than traditional cars
  • - He wants a carbon tax, and automakers and polluters should pay for the privilege of dumping crap into our atmosphere
  • - Musk has no intentions of ever leaving Tesla, but he doesn't think he'll be CEO forever.
  • - When asked about hydrogen, Musk called them "extremely silly" and went on a tear about his myriad of issues with the fuel before saying that the sooner we give up on hydrogen the better. "This will be super obvious when time goes by."
  • - Does he have anything to learn from the Volt or other cars on the road? "No." End of discussion.
  • - No one has taken Tesla up on its "open source" patents, but they don't need to inform Tesla.
  • - Superchargers will continue to expand throughout the continental U.S., Europe, China, and "most of the world" over the next couple of years.
  • - The Model X has sold out for the entire first model year.
  • - Regarding the recent Wall Street Journal article that calls into question the high rate of turnover of Tesla employees, Musk goes off, calls it "asinine" and points out that a lot of high-level execs have been there for quite some time. (Not so much in its communications department...)
  • - Question: Are you a good boss? "I try to be a good boss… most of the time. Not all the time."
  • - Tesla is not seeking partnerships, instead focusing on getting the X to market, and Musk infers that the press has burned him in the past when it came to rumors of working with other automakers.
  • - Finally, this delightful little nugget from the first Q&A: Musk originally thought that with phones and tablets, interior lights in the back seats of the Model S were useless. That was until one of his kids was reading a book. "This is the stupidest car in the world," said one of Musk's progeny. "After that we put the lights in the back."
:whoo: it might be big boss time

Its not going to be 35k for a version you'd want (unless you into bare bones shyt) believe that. If it is though cats going to be all on it thighs but I see more realistically closer to 50k with everything added

S starts at $70,000; this is a gamechanger regardless
My point was when the Model S first dropped Elon had said they were going to be 50k or less but that was basically you got that shyt with no options and the tax rebate. That was my point and if its 50k for a version most would want its not a game changer IMO. Now if you just want to say you have a Tesla yeah but not everybody going to want a car lacking features that a half the price Kia type car has.

You must not know about tesla playboy. Better read up on them. Realistic. That's real fukking life. These dudes were/are charging 600 for the thing between the driver and passenger fam. They also charging for or were charging for at one time a sunroof shade, navigation, more interior lights, etc. The cars for 35k will be relatively bare bones I'm almost certain of that if they stick to form. Don't believe me look it up that 35k is not the price most will pay unless they just want a car on some C class, a4 tip. If that's what it is I'm not mad at it just being real I know what tesla and other do and that 35k is probably 5-10k what avg people buying these are going to pay. Hope I'm wrong

Facts. Anyone buying a Telsa without the autonomous driving is pouring jelly on themselves.

Go to tesla.com and see what a base model tesla with the small battery is compared To a model s that has the features and battery capacity you would actually want.

Yep that's how they do business and don't worry I post (mainly lurk) on a tesla messageboard I know how bias they can be. Have dudes saying paying 600 for a center console isn't nothing and or they didn't want it anyway cause it makes the car look more clean. That not having door pockets and other standard stuff that regular cars have is cool to,them. I'm like you ain't got to lie to kick it. One of my dads friends has one and its great but esp for the fully loaded ones its lacking stuff you expect paying that much money on top of looking like a car that cost way less IMO. I'd still cop one though for the other stuff Im just not naive or stanning hard enough to not mention the Bs too.

The AP feature is cool but my dads friend got his before that and its great without it. I mean if you get it now I guess you'd want that but I don't trust it to use anyway that much outside of showing off so personally wouldn't get that much use out of it. I don't even use cruise control so AP isn't doing much for me even though some people say weird things like they feel more relaxed with it lol. shyt I'll fall asleep not having to worry about whats on the road. Lol
