If the power goes out folks wasted a ton of money.
We have a deep freezer that is pretty stocked so we’ll deplete that if we have to before we buy anything perishable.
Like last time the most important items to have on hand are flashlights, batteries, water, gas, and cash.
The temperature outside isn't going to get above freezing. If the power goes out just set the food out in the garage on top of the deep freezer or cardboard and it won't go bad, won't even thaw out. Nothing will perish.
Also cook yourself a big pot of spaghetti or a lasagna or have some pizzas on Friday or have lunch meat and bread on deck. If the power goes out you already have food ready.
Also another important item to have handy that a lot of folks don't think of is a propane grill with stove top burners built into them. If the power goes out and your electric stove doesn't work you can still cook food and more importantly boil water as well on it. I'd also add lighters and lighter fluid to your list of items as well, matches even. Also fully charge a couple portable power banks to charge your phones as well and make sure you have a full tank of gas before all the bullshyt hits so you can turn your car on and charge up shyt as well if you need too.
