As long as I can remember, 409/713/281 Juneteenth activities usually feature Frankie Beverly and Maze, not really Geto Boys, UGK, Dj Screw/Michael Watts.

Juneteeth, in the 80's/90s was an old head celebration - i.e they were 50-60 in 1990s, so they were born in the 30's-50's, came up in the 60s-80s.

My generation, Gen X, didn't really run with it until recently (say the last 10-15 years)
Same thing with the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. There was always a "Black" night, but it wasn't like it is now.

I'd comment more, but not trying to step on people's Polo Sport Duck Boots.

Sittin sideways, boys in a daze. On a Sunday night I might bang me some Maze
