more than I thought it would be but that's still shameful I feel like 2008 or 2012 but I can't remember off the top. Vice has a really good documentary on it you should check out if you haven't and I'm sure nyt or wp have coved it.
I guess one could argue it has spilled over the border but they primarily only target each other from what I've read. Mass scale violence wise our country is highly militarized so I don't feel the cartels could ever get away with what they do in Mexico which is largely due to corruption.
DoD would put the clamp down, they dont play when it comes to attacks on our soil. They would get washed.
