An Arlington High School football player lost his scholarship after he was arrested Wednesday, according to authorities.

School officials found an unloaded gun and narcotics in 19-year-old Raymond Sheard's backpack, according to Arlington Police Department spokeswoman Tiara Richard. The serial number had been removed from the gun.

Sheard was charged with having a gun at school, tampering with an identification number, possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana, Richard said. His bail was set at $7,750.

Sheard, a running back on the school's football team, was set to attend Boise State University on a football scholarship in the fall. Authorities said the university revoked his scholarship after the arrest.

Maybe he was left back in elementary or he started late. Its not that crazy a notion when most people graduate around 18

I know it happens, :lolbron: I graduated with a 21yr old. It's still kinda rare to even be able to play sports at that age in high school. I believe 19 is the cut off here in Alabama.
