A San Antonio middle-school teacher was arrested over the weekend after police found her in a hotel room with a former student.
Crystal Nicole Rodriguez (Bexar County Sheriff's Office) Crystal Nicole Rodriguez, 29, was arrested Sunday on a charge of improper relationship between an educator and a student. Police reported finding Rodriguez at a hotel with a 15-year-old girl, according to KSAT-TV. Rodriguez "admitted to having a sexual relationship" with the girl, police wrote in their report.
Rodriguez has taught and coached several girls' teams for two years at Page Middle School, where the victim previously attended, district officials said.
In a statement, San Antonio ISD spokeswoman Leslie Price said that district officials were "working to gather information to ensure we have full knowledge of what has occurred," adding that the incident would be reported to the State Board of Education. Rodriguez was released from the Bexar County jail Sunday after posting $20,000 bond. She was still listed as an employee on the middle school's websiteWednesday.
