The covid lockdown hurt them. This is the type of album that could grow a stronger following with live shows, Monch's core fan base probably do not care much for the rock sound on the album.

I think one of the things they did well with this album was to restrain the rock aspect just enough so that it doesn't ever go off into nu metal territory. Amnesia should have been a single it's one of those songs that could be a hit if it lands in the right place like a popular tv show or movie.
a lot of people have no idea about this...it being a diff name than Monch i'm sure isnt helping either but i get why it's a diff name. very good album but yeah my homies who love Monch didnt even know it was a thing.

Not specifically about this LP because I don't remember that much about it but I don't think it's right to dismiss shyt based on what you think it might sound like (pre-release)

In the case of this LP cats heard "rock influenced" and possibly didn't even give it a chance, I remember at least a few of the first tracks were straight forward dark hip-hop (will revisit soon)

e.g. Even If tomorrow a trend starts of albums that only sample Bossa nova and the first 58 albums are garbage doesn't mean the 59th can't be dope

Monch is that mc that I must buy every physical release from them. others are Kane, Rakim, and Busta(I skipped on his last one cuz that shyt was azz). Monche has 8 releases and not one of them are bad. He's in that rare breed of MCS that have never released a bad quality project with at least 8 albums. Others are Edo G, masta ace, and WC. All of their albums aren't classics, but absolutely none of them are trash. Not even Jay Z, Nas, or LL can make that claim.

I swear people think I'm lying. I've been buying tapes, vinyl and cds since before I was a teenager. I'm knocking on 50.. I was a huge Canibus fan for years and would always buy his releases but I had to stop. Dude just drops way too much shyt and most of it just isn't good nowadays. I've probably bought only 12 of his almost 40 releases.
