Been listenin to this album more often again recently, and I thought I'll make a thread on it (since the search function still doesn't work sry if theres already a thread).

Whats definetely dope about the album is the production, with Daz producing every song you know you'll get some quality beats. The production aspect didn't dissappoint for me.
Also dope fact was that the guest features were only West Coast rappers, from the old death row camp (bad azz, rbx), to Game as one of the new heavyweights and even a collaboration with BG Knocc Out & Dresta.
Thing that really bothered me, and sadly this was pretty obvious before even playing one song, is that Kurupt's lyrics lacked big time on many of the songs here, just listen to his tired lyrics in the first song and you know what to expect...

So what y'all think ?

That's the thing with a DPG album. You know for a fact the beats will be on 10. Daz will be consistent on the mic & the boards, but you just dont know with Kurupt sometimes. When he focused, he's someone I wouldnt wanna have to match rhyme for rhyme. He definitely has his :dahell: moments on the mic tho

Exactly, hes just so inconsistent shyt is unbelievable. He CAN still come up with amazing lyrical verses but only if he is really focused and actually motivated, most of the time he just seems to freestyle some shyt and fill the gaps with curse words x10000. One of the worst things is when he keeps rhyming motherfukker bar for bar for fukkin bar, same goes for nikka, bytch, dikk, buster, etc. etc. shyt is always :martin::what::beli:

That album couldve been a lot better if they had just scrapped the unnecessary collaborations with Diddy, Paul Wall etc shyt sounded wack af and out of Place
Especially on an Album called CALI iz active
That "p*ssy pop" or whatever it was called was one of the worst songs on the whole Project

Daz is nice with the beats but the main attraction to DPG for me has always been Kurupt. Since I don't remember much of this album Kurupt probably sucked on it.

Just inconsistent. When he's focused hes still a lyrical murderer, but he just lost his hunger after his first few years in the business. He needs the dr dre coaching like in the death row days

Was produced by Bangladesh, but yeah horrible song :mjlol:
Banner produced "Faknass Hoes" also one of the worst tracks on there, soundin outta place af as well

On this joint right here they got it right with the production & guests, now if only Kurupt wouldve been focused the whole time this shyt couldve been amazing

Itz A Good Azz Day was crazy smooth and a perfect throwback to that smooth 90's Cali shyt :wow::ohlawd::banderas:

...so Kurupt had come ruin the track with the worst shytty ass rhymes..:dahell:

Yeah that beat is smooth af :wow::wow:
Daz floatin on this :myman:
Kurupt had some questionable bars but it aint that bad :ehh:
Still if he wouldve brought the heat on this shyt would be even more of an old school throwback anthem

Bout to do a track by track review of this album after listening to the snoop album

The bar was set so high with their first album. I haven't listened to dog chit in a long time, though. I would have to go listen to it again.
