@thekingsmen Can you post up a Cliff Notes version of whats going on there? I remember you posted a bunch of stuff about it a while back.
Where to start....it's hard but
1. Thaksin Shinawatra regime in Thailand promised alot of things in the beginning of him being in office for the Thai People in 2001
2. Corruption kicked in quick and the people were being suppressed, jailed, attacked and murdered in the name of the "War on Drugs" in 2003-04
3. He had many drug users( not dealers) 3,000 of them murdered.
4. 18 Human Rights protester were found assassinated and a few missing.
5. There was a blood-less coup in 2006 ousting Thaksin from office
6. A year later....he was back in power.
7. By 2008 Abhisit Vejjajiva became Prime Minister through elections and that didn't last long.
8. 2010....Shinawatra had 300 armed mercenaries wielding AK47s, M16s, M67 grenades, M79 grenade launchers, and other assorted small arms. Running street battles beginning in April and ending in May would culminate in widespread arson across Bangkok. Over 90 would die during the violence, including soldiers, police, protesters, journalists, and bystanders.
9. Thaksin got back in power by 2011 but exiled himself for 2 years because of the courts who had issued arrest warrants for the deaths of 2010. He appointed his sister Yingluck to take his place. He would feed her all the details for 2 years.
10. Protests continued in late 2013 until late April this which helped Oust the Sister and her cabinet out of office. Though 40 people died in drive by shootings, bombs and beatings, including a opposition leader assassinated, the protesters got their way.
11. Red-Shirt Militia( Thaksin's Murderous Crew) out for revenge.
12. Martial Law.
