If you really think about it, it actually does stem from racism. The first thing that comes to mind when someone says muslim is either someone of middle eastern or african descent.....so basically they use the acts done by extremists to try and justify/hide the fact that they actually pretty much hate middle eastern folk and blacks. Trust me, they don't hate the religion, they just hate the people.
