That Mass Effect 3 ending (SPOILER)

Does Shepherd even survive in any of the endings? I read there's several endings to it. I was given the 3 choices and picked the reaper's destruction. I had an EMS of 4800 going in. I didn't d/l the extended ending, but I read the keynotes added.

shep takes a breath at the end of the red ending, and its assumed he survives but who knows the last 10 mins of that game ruined the whole series

I got the red light shockwave and didn't see a cut scene of him in the Citadel rubble. The last image of him was when he got thrown in the bushes after destroying the generator.

And yea, the ending was

The fukkin writers had to get lazy for the ending, huh?

ME3 was such a train-wreck that I don't want to play any thing Mass Effect related until an entirely new series is introduced.
