Bunch of states i will never live in :francis:

not because of black people but i know how the govt works. If there’s a high concentration of black people, they have been severely underfunded, infrastructure is bad, and high crime as a result.

Where is Michigan, Illinois, Ohio, Texas or Florida? Well of course the answer is that the States you are showing were States with large original slave populations.
Highest percentage compared to the overall state.

Cacs and others water down the numbers in the ones you mentioned

There are 18 states at or above the national black average percentage; there are 18 states with a million or more black residents...

There are 20 states that are at minimum 10% black; there are 20 states that have at least a half-million black citizens...

The same states are in both Top 20 lists of the highest percentage and highest population categories, except Delaware (which is #6 blackest by percentage, but #31 by population); and California (#6 by population, #29 by percentage) and Indiana (#20 by population, #22 by percentage)...

Take from that what you will. But having the 6th-largest physical black population matters for California, when only 5 states have a bigger population of US. And having the 6th-largest ratio of Black people matters for Delaware, when only 5 states have a higher percentage...

There's a Black Belt of contiguous ("contiguous" meaning, connected to) states above national average, that goes from Texas, to Arkansas, to Louisiana, to Mississippi, to Tennessee, to Alabama, to Florida, to Georgia, to South Carolina, to North Carolina, to Virginia, to Maryland, to Delaware, to New Jersey, to New York...

15 states that touch each other, contiguous to ine another, that are at or above national average...

If you want to add the contiguous states that are at least 10% black, you have to add Pennsylvania, which is connected to NY/NJ/DE/MD, but also connects to Ohio, which connects to Michigan; and you have to add Missouri, which is connected to AR/TN, but also connects to Illinois...

So you can add 5 more states, to say there are 20 contiguous states, that are 10% black or higher, that form our relative Black Belt...

And you bring up politics when it's not a part of the conversation.

Politics won't save any black people, but you're indoctrinated so hard that your brain is full of mush.
Well Education politics in red states are exactly why Black folks are financially struggling in your region. Lack of investment in your state Universities limits the income improvement and social mobility of the Black community in the surrounding area.

I’m assuming you live in Alabama and I just checked the Endowments of all of your HBCU’s. The highest public HBCU in Alabama is Alabama State at 111.3 million dollars. There’s no excuse but politics for that endowment to be so low.

Hence my resentment towards the white people and white governors of your state.

So why do so many talk down on the areas with high black concentration on this site? :jbhmm:
Out of ignorance, mainly. But I'll say that some of these places are hella black but not good places to live black or raise black families...

Mississippi is #1 in percentage, #18 in population, and is a TERRIBLE place for black people, in many metrics. Alabama and SC aren't much better...

Georgia has so many good areas for us but is offset by how many areas are just not great for us. Arkansas is #11 in percentage but is pretty bad for black people. New York isn't great for black people outside of The Boroughs, Louisiana and Missouri are known as awful states for black people, New Jersey doesn't have a great reputation, either...

So if one's only motivation is to live in the places that have the most black people, that's easy. Just move to one of the Top 20 states...

But when you take physical population or percentage out and set em to the side, and weigh out other quality of life factors, there are places outside these areas that are better...
