2 stars who can't shoot for Shyt in the modern NBA

Fooled us by beating tanking trash east teams

They best player has major major injury history

They have no volume scorer

JJ reddik was the leading scorer in the 2018 playoffs :francis:

Ben Simmons got outplayed by TJ McConnell

Boston easily dismissed them without 2 all stars

Idk brehs, I can't see this core winning a title tbh, Boston is easily better over the next few years:yeshrug:

People are penciling in Embiid and Simmons as top 10-15 players over the next decade but it's much more realistic that Embiid's career never reaches it's full potential and I don't see Simmons as the best guy on a title team.

With the right moves and Embiid/Simmons staying healthy they could win the east possibly but even that isn't "title contending"

they needed to make a splash like get Kawhi

Embiid's about to have a monster season.

They're a good, but not great team.

Celts > Raps > Philly
Same Raptors team that got swept last playoffs? Yeah, they acquired Kawhi Leonard and hired a new coach, but that franchise has A LOT to prove this upcoming season. Their history.....certainly does not instill much confidence in me when it comes to postseason play.

I still got Philly and Boston as the two powerhouse teams in the East next season.

Just cause the two other teams have great young cores doesn’t mean they don’t also have a great core lol

6ers have the space to still get a splash FA next year, the year after, or the year after. They SHOULD be deeper than they are talent wise but they’ve had some boneheaded draft picks factoring in just how many they’ve had. But they’re still in a great place as long as Fultz and Simmons keep their trajectory up. They got the best young player out of the main 3 in the east (Embiid > Tatum > OG?), Cs and Raps just lucked into two superstars forcing themselves out for trades (neither were able to attract that caliber of FA for years once they got on, Philly just established itself as a relevant power)

Embiid was getting clamped by Aaron Baynes against Boston

What a short sighted thread.

Embiid is 24 and just made All-NBA 2nd team.

Simmons is 22 and just won ROTY going away WITHOUT a jumper.

Fultz is in the lab with one of the country's best trainers reconfiguring his jumper, and by all accounts he's been successful.

They have cap space to add another star, which they should be in no rush to do because it's not like Kawhi or LeBron would've propelled them to a title this season anyway.

They're fine. They added 2 athletic wings to help them defend the perimeter. But it all comes down to how Fultz, Simmons, and Embiid improve. They're not close, but neither are Boston or Toronto. Barring injuries the only team that's close is Golden State.
