At this point I’ve lost count of how many unforced errors teams have beaten themselves with against them. Stupid shyt like throwing into double coverage with a clean pocket on 2nd down with just under 2 minutes left at midfield, receivers just dropping passes in the end zone, quarterbacks trying to throw into coverage in the end zone on third and maybe 5 with 40 seconds left and a clear lane to run for the first down, coaches not knowing how the hell to manage a clock, defensive backs not knowing to go to the ground when you get a pick to put the game away even when their coach tells them to do so in pregame if they get said pick, kickers missing 32 yard field goals with the game on the line, calling a slant pass to the inside of the field at the goal line instead of running it up the middle, kickers sending the kickoff out of bounds with 90 seconds left in the game, coaches not calling any runs while up 25 in the 4th quarter, going in with a game plan of sit in coverage and not try to pressure Brady. These are all ways that teams have lost playoff games to them and they were all entirely unforced errors. Completely self inflicted. The worst part is that many of these coaches and coordinators who blow it like this keep getting jobs and a good amount get hailed as great coaching minds. I’m not even mad at them anymore and haven’t been for years aside from getting caught cheating, but that’s not even the subject of discussion here, so it doesn’t matter. They keep their composure, play disciplined, play to their strengths, and don’t beat themselves. Everyone else seems to look for new ways to lose.
