they were on the same label as wu-tang and mobb deep. they should have been featured on more of their projects to get their name out there more. it wasn't until later on til they were making singles with the likes of ODB and what not.
They were definitely respected in that same vein amongst heads in the 90s and they collabed with their labelmates quite a bit.
When the industry got their hooks on Tash and started telling him he was the nicest nikka ever (he’s up there) and that he should become a mainstream solo star that was it.
I believe he signed a solo deal with Interscope, right?
Then the industry shifted to the South right after he flopped and they showed you can make party music like the Liks that didn’t require lyrics at all.
I think that’s what did them in.
