It's not white men. They know a lot of Black women have low self esteem so any chance they are paired with a white man they feel validated and will watch that show in numbers. The research teams done peeped all the white zaddy worship going on with those interracial YouTube couples and them making white boys saying or doing mediocre things go viral on Facebook and Twitter.
Studios only supply what's in demand. If that combination wasn't bringing the numbers they would've been bushed it. In the 90s they weren't on that shyt because sistaz weren't on worship mode for the pale.
Hell why you think Barnes and Noble got a whole wench section of zaddy worship books bigger than the Collective Black/African history section. Neither white men or white women are reading that bullshyt.
This answer actually doesn’t make much sense. The first sentence doesn’t because yes it actually is whites funding, writing and making many of these shows. Just common sense thinking—most people are focused on their own self interest and promotion. Wm will never promote bm the way bm want. Why would they—why would that be their interest? Would bm promote wm if they were in a similar position? Nope, lol.
Look whites may toss a few dog bones every now and then to appease black viewers but largely they are going to make shows about themselves, promoting themselves. It’s also why the Lee Daniels and Tyler Perry’s continue to make shows that have twisted gay agendas embedded—they are focused on promoting and telling their stories. Not yours.
If you want to be depicted a certain way you have to do the depicting. The big issue is that people continue to rely and expect white people to gaf about how they represent us, when we should focus on representing ourselves. Its interesting that you blame the shows wm make, on bw’s YouTube and swirl books. You give Bw a lot of power with your post, yet many bw themselves don’t believe they have the power you believe they do when it comes to media representation—it’s a constant complaint from bw that they don’t feel depicted the right way in the media. I think some of you are so fixated on blaming counterparts that the big picture isn’t being seen. Which is that we have to do it ourselves.
In general it is white people calling the shots when it comes to the every day media people consume. I’m honestly not sure why the WW who can, rarely develop shows/commercials/movies that feature ir couplings with bm. The only reason there are swirl books is because swirling Bw choose to write them.
If bm want more IR representation in the media they will have to create that content like the swirling bw.
As a side note what’s interesting when we look at the lower number of bm ww ir grouping across the media in comparison to the reverse, is that we also hardly ever see aw wm couples across media either.
