Can someone help me understand these 2 talking points?

-We all know that the tax code is written to favor business owners, and small biz owners can take advantage too. But large corporations still find loopholes. And at some point, how can things be upgraded if the tax revenue isn’t there?

Wouldn’t the bull just be passed down to the working stiff?

-I just got hip to how corporations lobbied to deregulate business. Basically allowing the free market to do its thing. But isn’t the crash in ‘08, the energy crisis in Cali in the early 2000s, and other times where the environment has been damaged in the name of profits a solid argument that maybe there should be more laws?

I’m watching these financially documentaries on prime:flabbynsick:and one touched on what happened in Cali regarding their electricity crisis. I had the:mindblown:face bc any sane person wouldn’t co-sign that. Those corporations sold a dream to the public, ran up a bag, then fcked over a lot of people.

It seems like every couple of years, the big dogs with money push these 2 talking points, Fck it up somehow, and sit back like “Oops:troll::mjgrin:” bc they’ll get bailed out.

Can someone help me understand

More doesnt equal better... we need competent actors to enforce environmental protections... and there is no such thing as the free market.
