The Realist Perspective
Superstar
The word “Semitic” didn’t always mean what people think it does today. It was about bloodline according to the bible, Shem was one of Noah’s three sons. His descendants included Arphaxad, Eber, and eventually Abraham, the father of Isaac, then Jacob, whose name was changed to Israel. That makes all twelve tribes of Israel descendants of Shem. They were Semites by blood, not by speech, which is pushed widely today.
So when someone called themselves a Semite back then, it meant they came from that specific lineage, Abraham’s line through Shem.
That changed in the 1700s. European “scholars” started grouping languages like Hebrew, Arabic, and Aramaic together because of shared structures. They needed a label and pulled “Semitic” from the Bible’s Table of Nations. From that point on, “Semitic” started referring to people who spoke these languages, not people who actually descended from Shem. They totally butchered and screwed up the original meaning. That’s where the contradiction starts! In come the Ashkenazi Jews. The term “Ashkenazi” comes from Ashkenaz, a grandson of Japheth, Noah’s other son. According to the Bible, Japheth’s descendants settled in Europe and the north. They’re not from Shem’s line. So by the Bible’s own definitions, Ashkenazis aren’t Semitic. They’re Japhethic, and impossible to be a Jew!
And yet, in modern terms, Ashkenazi Jews are labeled as Semitic, based not on their ancestry, but on their liturgical use of Hebrew and religious tradition. At the same time, groups like Palestinians, Syrians, and others who are clearly both Semitic-speaking and descended from Shem are often excluded from that label in political or cultural discussions.
We’ve taken a term that once meant a specific bloodline and turned it into a vague linguistic label that gets applied selectively. The modern use of “Semitic” isn’t rooted in scripture or genealogy, it’s a product of European academic theory, and it’s been used to b*stardize that meaning ever since.
If someone calls themselves “Ashkenazi,” tracing their identity to Ashkenaz, a descendant of Japheth, they’re by definition not part of the bloodline that produced the twelve tribes of Israel. The tribe of Judah, from which the word “Jew” comes, was a Shemite tribe. You can’t be from Japheth’s line and also claim Shem’s inheritance. The math doesn’t work. It’s literally contradictory.
What we’re left with is a messy, manipulated version of history where definitions change to suit modern narratives. But if you go back to the source, THE BIBLE, the lineages were clear, and they mattered. You either descended from Shem, or you didn’t.
Now, European nations are using the nation state of Israel to further push its colonization efforts, all under the guise of another “manifest destiny” allegedly written thousands of years ago!
You guys don’t know fully understand how important all of this is. A lot of our politicians and a huge segment of the population of the US are Christian and are all for the reinstatement of Israel, the temple, etc. because they believe it will usher in the second coming of Christ!!!
This stuff is just mind blowing. One of the greatest psyops of all time.
