The Assistant (2020)

This just released on streaming platforms yesterday and i had to watch just so I can see my baby ruth from ozark (Julia Garner). I like the actress so I was able to finish the film but I'll be lying if I said this was any good.

It felt like this was a PSA turned into a movie and that didnt work. I wouldn't recommend this for casual movie watchers but for cinephiles who will, what do you think? Am I missing something?

If you followed the Weinstein case, and the coverage, I read both the NY Times reporters one, and the Ronan Farrow, than this a must watch.

A casual movie goer, who doesn't follow current events, will probably be bored. A couple I saw leaving when I saw this in theaters, months back, were livid. "You OWE me for this, how does this have 87 on RT?!"

Got this from the library and watched it.

I get that it was during the "me too" era but it really felt like a movie that followed the supporting character in a novel, and nothing happens. Definitely felt like nothing happened and nothing changed... Waiting for Godot Harvey
