I see your point but.. attitude era would of never came to be if wasn’t for wcw forcing Vince and company to up their game and make compelling tv to increase their ratings

And your right Austin did usher it in he was the first one who started doing attitude eraish promos in 1996

The business, including WCW would have been dead if it wasnt for Austin ushering the "Attitude era"

Yeah it’s just WWE branding the history they own, just like the term Grunge is used to describe most rock music that wasn’t hair band sounding in the early 90s

Shane Douglas throwing the NWA title in the trash was the ember that ignited the spark which was Hogans heel turn in mainstream wrestling. Vince was the last person to catch on that people wanted controversy

Technically, yes you’re right. However, I associate it with all 90s wrestling.

Ehhhh... I can't really put the early half in the same space as that last three-four years... to me the 90s in wrestling is like three different parts. The early part still riding the wave of the late 80s, the middle part where shyt was just all over the place, then the last three years where shyt went in the new edgy direction. It's hard to put powder blue jacket Vince and Mr. McMahon in the same box, lol

*cue USWA clips, I know*

this is the most revisionist post possible.

that entire boom period for wrestling was started by the WCW, and they were clearly the top promotion for at least half of that era.

and the WWF attitude chit really wasnt even all that. it was a watered-down take on ECW mixed with the already on-going era of shock TV. then they started their own dollar store version of the NWO - known as DX. but its what got alot of yall into wrestling so yall act like its goat.

People today look back and think of Stone Cold and Rock before they think of Hoegan or WCW. This is absolute facts.

Your post is biased and rooted in old head nostalgia
