He's trying to get paid now...so his last effort (NLL) came off as forced and doesnt have the integrity of his previous works. Sadly he is entering his prime and decline at about the same time as far as his career. Still...if Hip Hop was ever what it claimed to be...those mixtapes wouldve been classic (retail) albums sans the industry politics. In order to have a certain level of genius, one must have a certain level of insanity to compensate for the imbalance.

lol, to the casual fan they only know Pump It Up and Love and Hip Hop. L&HH actually gained him some fans though, but they either think he is new to the game or that he has been on hiatus since his first album. he has a fukkin GOAT catalogue though. For me its hard to decide what I want to throw on from him because he has so many quality tapes/songs.

I somewhat agree with this. Bars were still there but it didnt feel like a Budden albun. It was him pretty much giving his new (L&HH) fanbase what they wanted. Which made sense since the album even dropped around the same time L&HH started.

Good thing is, he already confirmed that his next EP (Some Love Lost) and album (All Love Lost) are gonna be "dark"

Across all genres of music, there are very few artists that can convey emotion on a track the way Budden can. His music is genius, HOWEVER, that No Love Lost was so cliche as an album.
