King Harlem

Easily The Emancipation of Mimi by Mariah Carey.
For those who don't remember, Mariah Carey had just made one of the worst movies ever called Glitter and released a soundtrack to that movie that was universally panned.
The criticism for Mariah Carey's film and album Glitter was exceptionally harsh, leading to a widely panned film, poor box office performance, slow album sales, and a period where Carey was considered a "national punchline" and "emotionally unstable" by the media, though its legacy has been re-evaluated over time.
Then Mariah linked up with Jermaine Depree and created the best album of her career.
It's a better comeback album than:
Common's Be
LL Cool J's Mama Said Knock You Out
Nas' Stillmatic
Tina Turner's Private Dancer
David Bowies Blackstar
I think the only album that comes close is Dr. Dre's 2001.
