1 # Get a mailing address...

The Salvation Army sometimes makes it possible for homeless people to receive mail.

If that doesn't work quite possibly you might be able to find a shelter or even a business like a barber shop that's willing to let you get mail there even if you have to slide them up couple of dollars.

Find a way to get on their good side and talk them into letting you get some mail at their establishment.

2 # Spent a lot of time at the local library...

free and internet service, knowledgeable staff and tons of books. Plus is warm in there and this air condition. You can research anything you want. The library is a great place to be. If possible find the nearest suburb that's upper class of fluid and go to the library. Suburban tend to have nicer libraries.

3 # If at all possible get a gym membership asap...

It ain't like back in the day when you had the shutout $35 to go Gold's or LA Fitness. Today you can join Planet Fitness For $10 at $1 down. Plus I only can you get a good workout in at the gym you can also get a shower if you need it.

4 # If you got to sleep somewhere I suggest the bus station...

If you got a crash somewhere for a night or even for a few nights try leave a few nights a try a 24hr Greyhound bus station. It's lighted and usually relatively warm or cool depending on the season. Just don't go up in the air smell like a skunk a looking like like a bum you should be cool. Try not to sleep longer than 4 hours and definitely use the lockers to lock up your valuables. And watch your back...

Keep rockin...

I been homeless last year. No homeless shelters or youth hostels would take me in because I got violent crimes on my record. And I'm currently in a very legit country where the government do a lot for people (uk). I was quite shocked actually at the lack of help and services. The local council won't give you any immediate help unless you are a woman or have a child in your custody. The local charities and homeless shelters won't take you in if you got a criminal record. I was left out to dry lol. Lucky I got a car because I just slept in that.

5 # Avoid drugs, alcohol and addicts at all cost. That shooting galleries, gambling spots and speakeasies or bars.

Don't let these cute dope fiend broads
con into becoming a fiend. Don't let your situation have you all depressed and get you into taking all types of drugs either. Don't start hanging out with fiends just because dude might seem cool. Remember water seeks its own level. If you don't want to be a fiends don't associate with fiends.

If u in a shelter, Have a hustle to where u can get some paper so u can be independent when u need knick knacks. I was in a few shelters but I was doing security and I also had a good connect on cartons of Newports. I had the hook up and could buy Packs of Newports to where I could sell them for a quarter at the shelter I was in while the main guy who sold loosies there was selling them for 50 cents. I cut his throat was able to buy hero sandwhiches whenever the dinner they served was shytty. I got transfered to another shelter and there was this big southern dude from Texas who had the way better connect driving to the Indian reservations and he had a locker filled with cartons of Newposrts and Malbros selling loosies for a quarter and packs for 4. My cigerrette selling career was done as soon as I walked in. :mjcry:

Good thing I had that security job to fall back on....:whew:

Plus the food was 10 X better so food wasnt an issue no longer. When u have a job and u in a shelter you got money to where u can eat what u want and u feel guilty walking past people with outside food LOL

Having your security license on deck is regular hustle. Its easy to get a security job so thats always gonna be the simplist go to hustle for someone just trying to make ends meet. I havent done security in over 15 years and i still renew my shyt every 2 years just in case. 25 bucks every 2 years aint shyt.

Bottom line,,..U in a shelter...u need a hustle.

Let me say this n if it hit mainstream n yall dont hear from me no more tall know y.....

Dallas is having big problems with the homeless issue....the city has been given millions of dollars 2 fight the homeless problem but its been having problems with misappropriated funds. The shelter i stayed at the bridge would make posts and write articles about them feeding n clothing the homeless and wish people would stop passing out stuff on the street and instead donate finacial contributions to the shelters...i posted in response that yes they feed (food trash) they dont give out clothes coats or blankets but the people on the street do no questions asked. Another thing shelters make a profit off the people who get govt checks n dont work. Let me explain. U have to get a shelter id. For each service u recieve u hafta get ur id scanned.....hrres the kicker every time ur id is scanned the shelter gets a donation. So if u there all day u making them big bucks. I went to get help with housing first they said i made too much money...then not enuf money tben finally they said i hadnt been documented homeless long enuf. How do u document sleeping in a car or on the street¿¿°¿

If I was homeless, but had a job then I would call a place like Cruise America and buy me one of those used Class C motor homes that they sale when they replace their old rv's with new rv's. You can get one of those for some where around $20,000.00, which can be financed because you have a job. You can even get used motorhomes much cheaper than that if you shop around. Motorhomes are used by people all the time on vacation so they are designed for that living.

Those used rv's have high miles, but they have everything that a person needs to live, including a bed, a kitchen, a bathroom, etc. It is better and safer than sleeping outdoors and once a person learns the ins and out of the how the unit works it is just like like living in a trailer.
