it can go either way, -- with hi-fidelity & good ass speakers you can hear a lot more imperfections too.
but yea, if you take away the "boom" you can maybe judge better if there's a actually good song underneath.
it's a good technique for mastering too, to play it on a shytty stereo AS WELL as the car, and the state of the art studio monitors. a lot of the public just listens to shyt on their tinny ass iphone without headphones.
also, just cuz it might not be great for quiet listening on shytty speakers that cant handle the bass DOESN'T mean that shyt isn't wonderful & mindblowing in its correct setting
