look up the SBA or other government programs. They give preference to women, minorities and veterans. Then look for a bank that is a SBA preferred lender (PLP) it will speed up the process. Banks have something called CRA requirements as well that says they have to work with low and moderate income.

The only issues I see is lenders typically want you to bring about 20% equity (sometimes more) of the loan amount to the table for startups. Think of it like a down payment on a house.

What does this old black man want to dress like a teenage cac hipster?

You cant ask for money with no pride.. just because you put the label African amerkkan in front of it, im suppose to support it?

Naw.. the type of black people that dedicate to helping are more proud than this.

I think Tariq Nasheed has crowdfunded his movies, so it can work if you have a strong brand already

that's the thing, if it's a black-only crowdfunding thing it's going to be based on ideals and not a brand

for example, would be a great idea of people on the coli actually put their money where their mouth is. but its never happening

I think crowdfunding in general is a stupid idea. You are just asking for a handout. You'd have to give me equity in the company for me to even think about giving money to one of these sites. Even if it's the best idea in the world.

Launched in May 2013, Pitman Hughes' campaign aimed to fund a community garden that trains chronically unemployed families in Jacksonville to grow fresh food, and to learn job skills while selling their produce. One half-acre garden costs "about $6,000" to set up.

I mean look at this shyt. Who is going to donate to that? Can I write it off as charity? That's the only way you might be able to convince someone to put money towards it.

I tried going to the sba and scores.org in nj and ny, and both were useless.
I was also informed by one of the sba employees, that they had just attended a meeting with the banks and flat out asked the banks why they were not lending to black (not that people of color bullish) businesses.
.
Local Government is also useless in my opinion, I have talked to my assemblyman, mayor( business plan in hand) and called my Small Business Development Center, all with fruitless results. I have also written an e mail to a black man connected to and organization that help youth with starting a business, an also have corresponded with a so called brother that was on the mhp show, all in vain.
.
So fukk all of the black boule class, like i have said many times on the net and in person, before combat jack "borrowed" the statement , poor and working blacks only have ourselves to lean on, especially brothers, sisters on some other ish nowadays.
.
Last thing, when i was in those streets in the early 90's i recevied more help from poor black women, and hustling young brothers than i ever have from these so called talented negroes.

I thought this was going to be about Silicon Valley-level startups not a black Kickstarter.

Tariq Nasheed has done ok with Kickstarter. He has spent years building an audience and provides free podcasts and a weekly Ustream show. He has frequently said that blacks will spend money at the strip club or on Jordan's but balk at donating $20 for a project. He says that whites contribute to projects that interest them: cat documentaries or some guy making potato salad.

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/324283889/potato-salad

Dr. Umar Johnson didn't use crowdfunding because of the 10% fee. He didn't receive much funding from his main audience. Instead, he got donations from people who probably randomly saw his Youtube videos, read an article, or a black forum.

One of the businessmen's wife was right when she said her husband just expected the money to come in for no particular reason. They seem to have zero idea how black people spend their money or what sites they frequent on the internet.

I've personally given to almost a dozen Kickstarters. One of the ones I'm most proud of was about a guy who went into African villages and found records of music where only one or two records exist in the world. If those were to be lost, the music would be gone forever. He wanted to go in with the necessary gear and transfer all the music to a digital format. You should have seen some of those peoples faces when they heard that this random dude wanted to preserve their music. It was great.

I've also campaigned 2 kickstarters of my own. And they both failed miserably. Once I did just to test the waters. The next time, I sat with a social media consultant for over an hour to plan it. And she ended the session with, 'All of your ideas are great, you're not going to make any money because your campaign video doesn't have any white people in it.' I disagreed with her and said that I wanted money off the merit of my idea, not because of white people, and I went about my business. I didn't see a dime. My girlfriend donated out of pity for me. Which I didn't see that either because Kickstarter is all or nothing. Ha.

I once saw a Kickstarter get over 10 grand and all it featured was 2 white girls in tube tops jumping up and down on a bed. There was no description in the video. And the page was vague and poorly written. After that I knew Kickstarter was a joke.

In the article the so called black feminist didn't want the site to have the word "black" attached to it.
When your own traitorous people turn on you, this is what you get, a bankrupt company, all these traitors need to be called out.
This is why liberalism and feminism is a disease similar to racism, just look at who she is associated with for the last 40 years, Gloria Steinem, who is the reason you can say good morning to a black women and it evolves into #youoksis.

Crab in a bucket .... you don't understand what that is. And what "us" and "group" are you referring to... this nikka is a pro west Zionist?

It doesn't mean you can't criticize. I support his idea and initially would be excited just off the strength of what hes doing

... I do support black business.... but i avoid people who fall into Caucasian alternative cultures...

I feel like at the end of the day, when they need funding or whatever they'd be willing to do anything. I personally can't get down with that.

I'm average income, well technically average:mjpls:.. and even I've actually launched bytches businesses and helped (I don't call them that word, lol)

This 'black' dude starts YET ANOTHER one of these bullshyt things and YET another black woman's business fails.

who do u believe in? not these types.
