I get on black women's issues all the time on here, and i never hold back, so don't come in here saying "b-b-but what about black women" no group is above criticism including us

Some things out of the mouths of some black men is astounding. Can black men turn a mirror on ourselves for once and admit we aren't perfect. For once. In that education/underemployment thread, the amount of excuses were sickening. It was like reading a bunch of women's posts. Nah, scratch that, i've seen women take more responsibility than that.

Excuses, excuses, excuses. The black man can get his Bachelors or Masters just like anyone else can. Do we face challenges? Of course. You have to work harder, no it ain't fair, but talking about how everyone is always holding you back isn't gonna do shyt.

I know an African breh who came to the States with nothing but the shirt on his back, and now breh has his own law firm. Man up. Black American men talk shyt about what everybody else is doing wrong, like we are perfect.

Do you realize that in America, most black men don't even own their own neighborhoods. Our own fukking neighborhoods. Do you realize that in America, anybody including foreigners comes in black neighborhoods and set up shop and extract wealth. And if you're lucky, they MIGHT hire a black person and put them in the kitchen.

When are nikkas going to stop chasing materialistic shyt, grow up and start investing in their communities? Instead of having to rely on and beg other races for positions.

Why is it that you can go in a random area and see an Arab or Korean or Hispanic owned store, owned by young or middle aged men WORKING TOGETHER to build wealth, and see young or middle aged black men hanging around there instead of pooling their money together to start their own BLACK business?

If we as black men chased ENTREPRENEURSHIP and EDUCATION like we chase p*ssy and Jordan's, we'd be a lot better off.

I know yall nikkas mad but I told you I don't hold back. I ain't gonna sugar coat this shyt because some of you need to hear it even if it angers you.

Why does the black man view other black as the enemy. We're on the same team. I fully expect you guys to deny it, but the fact remains. Too many black men beef, fight and kill each other over petty dumb shyt, instead of coming together to build something.

When it was time for business and i had the capital, guess who had blown their investment money on dumb shyt and had to stay at their job they hated, complaining about working for the man? Now in 2016 my business is successful, yes it took time but breh regrets not getting in on it when he could have.

Why is it that a young black man who owns his own business is viewed as a rarity? Would you be surprised if an Asian guy had his own business? Nah. Would you be surprised if a white guy did? Nah. Would you be surprised if a Hispanic did? Nah.

And don't just say it's "in the hood" because i lived in the suburbs with white people all throughout middle and high school and cacs own most of everything there too

Are you ok with your future kids, grandkids, great grandkids, having to deal with the same exact shyt you complained about, what are you gonna do about it? Is it ok to have no businesses or even property to pass down to your sons, grandsons, etc?

How long are we going to beg cacs? Because you should know by now they don't give a blue fukk. Black men are supposed to care about themselves and their people, not the "white man". Cacs only give a fukk about themselves. They do not like black people, especially black men.

Why are there nikkas viewing other nikkas as competition, quick to hate on another nikka, don't want to help each other do shyt and tear each other down, but don't mind kissing ass and begging for crumbs from cacs and other minorities

The black man is viewed as a joke in America collectively and this is why.

Quoting my boy on this one:

And it's always extremely disturbing to see able body young black men hang around foreign owned liquor stores harassing fellow members of the community. I often say to myself, that these young men should be doing something more productive, like pulling their resources together and opening a business of their own. Under normal circumstance, this is what young men would be doing. However, things in the black community AREN'T normal and so it isn't uncommon to see abnormal behavior. Any self respecting man with an ounce of cultural pride would be doing everything in his power to expel some of the exploitative entities that exist in his community. However, the black man, not all of us, would rather spend his time being a menace to his own community as opposed to being it's savior.
And yes, this is why many black women do no respect black men. We aren't on our game, brothers. As men we should be working to take back our community and instilling racial and cultural pride amongst our people. Instead were buying loose cigarettes and liquor from Ahmed while he disrespects our sisters, daughters, and wives, were shooting dice in front of his store, shooting at each other over trivial matters, giving a pass to these pulpit pimp preachers while they extort our mothers and grandmothers, harassing and harming fellow sisters whose honor we should be protecting.

This is the dark reality of the black man in America. It's like some black men don't even realize how sorry they look in the eyes of the rest of world. We are the laughing stock

If we were bosses, had our own shyt, our own economic base and stop begging these cacs who obviously inherently hate us(for some reason nikkas will never understand this) we would be unstoppable esp with the bytches....even the most bummy blackmen has more swag and confidence then rich cacs...they cant compete that's why they keep us low. We were once kings man....the ori man..

Many black men won't. Because they are too busy protecting and making excuses for bad black men

Niccas are immature and popular culture constantly tell us to be ignorant or tell us our value rest on our hard we can be. So a black kid raised without strong parenting will fall victim to his surroundings easilly. So by the time they get to mid 20s to late 20s they have fallen prey to the system.

I remember in the 5th grade and started watching these hot boys video and found them cool etc. But my parents wasn't having none of that non sense..now I'm 26, I get why they didn't like me emulating that bullshyt...lol still jam to the music but I know it's not what to emulate.

Why does the black man view other black as the enemy.

In my opinion, this is the core issue. Self-hatred is rampant and we simply dont trust each other. We are the only group that feels more comfortable living amongst "others" than its own. Sadly, this will take multiple generations to reverse if possible. The intentional brainwashing is extremely deep.

The instilling racial and cultural pride part is key also.

That is true

We need to focus on black media as well so the good black men and black women can be represented more.

White media will never let intelligent black men and black women be properly represented.

Uhh.. you do know women are the ones who stay when men walk out on their responsibilities on a whim, right?

In society women are pretty much regarded as the mature ones. I didnt get past the first paragraph.

Lets not turn this into a gender war thread. We gotta work together and not compete.

Yes. I freaking hate that we as black people cant pull together and extract poisonous celebrities. We support too many people in the industry that make us look terrible and speak badly about us. Its got so bad that we even allow non-black people to represent us and give our culture a bad look.
Im into korean entertainment and i must say i admire them. All of their celebrities literally walk on eggshells. Koreans will gut and toss them for the slightest disrespect. If they even sniff that your trying to give koreans a bad look they will tear you apart, drop endorsements, you'll get fired from every show, movie, commercial.

Before anything pops off, black men in America have to big up yourselves. The amount of fukkery you have to go through is ridiculous. Your struggle is my struggle, from a youngin i've been telling my bros that you can't truely understand the struggle until you spend sometime with you guys down south.

I remember having my first taste of racism at 13 in Chicago, long story short; this police woman pulled a gun out on us, because she thought we were resisting arrest. I had no idea whtlat was going on until my cousin told me to drop on the floor. 24 going on 25 now, not once have I had police pull some fukkery like that on me, even when i was moving ways and trying play roadman.

You are correct. Without strong parenting many young black males will fall in between the cracks of society and emulate the caricatures that the media loves to promote. Now that you mention it I remember being the 7th grade and everyone being up on the Hot Boys. Like so many of my peers I wanted to be hot boy.

Looking back I shake my head at how ridiculous they look. As black men we should be collectively encouraging young black males that there is more in life to aspire to. There is definitely an agenda that seeks to keep young black males confused with the end goal of them being incarcerated or dead.
