My grandfather was in this batallion. He hated his war experience, refused to ever speak on it, and forbid my father to join the army.

My grandfathers and uncles were in WWII in different theaters, my dad never heard about his fathers experience, too traumatic. My uncle's ship got blown up off the coast of Papua New Guinea and he was floating in the water for 2 days before he got picked up. 95 now
