these guys mastered the art of samplin' as far as i'm concerned. if someone knew nothin' bout hip hop and wanted to know the art and definition of what it is to sample and or asked me "who really set the tone for samplin in hip hop?", i'd say the bomb squad.

their production for public enemy is well known but many forget bout the many great and classic songs they produced outside of pe :whew:

What do you mean they don't get enough recognition?

Albums they had a hand in producing are always in people's top 10 lists with legendary artists like Ice Cube still talking about how influential/important they were. One of the magazines just did a write up with them and Cube a few months back.

naw, what i mean is when there's usually talk of hip hop producers names like dr. dre, rza, premier, pete rock come up and rightfully so. but these days i hardly ever heard people really talk bout how innovative the bomb squad as a production team were

PE gets recognition and so does the bomb squad but not on the level they should, i think the bomb squad and dj muggs (who really was clearly heavily influenced by them) are the GOAT producers as far as taking that wall-of-sound approach and keeping your head nodding.

for real, "rebel without a pause" is the greatest beat ever made. show me a dre production as genius as that.

Their style, especially with PE, got thrown in the bushes early because of sample clearances and laws.:mjcry:.

That wall of sound with a gang of samples was genius but too expensive after the early 90s. So maybe that has played a part in the Bomb Squad not getting their just due on the top producers list since they weren't really producing music in Hip Hop during the mid 90s and after.

i still think dr. dre is the greatest for multiple reasons however, there's denyin' the importance of the bomb squad and their influence on dr. dre and many other producers.
