I personally fukk with Boondocks more, but only because of the true classic Aaron Mcgruder gave us in season 1. shyt was like no other. The ability to relate to the theme of the episodes, the genius insertion of jazz music into the soundtrack. And Mcgruder was actually teaching folks some real life shyt.
My favorite episode is a Huey Freeman christmas, I watch it every year during the holiday. Huey shytted all over Grandad's fantasy

They got rid of that GOAT piano player too, nikka was cold
Season 2, you can tell that's when Carl started to get more say into the series. Was still funny, but started to be all about the comedy and less about the social commentary Aaron is known for.
I still got to finish the 4th season, but general consensus is that it was pretty bad, and without Aaron there I believe it.

i mean....boondocks appeals to mainly a black audience
simpsons tends to appeal to a more general audience, but probably most middle class white americans
but even then judging by the results of this post, and i know this is quite an urban site...
so maybe there isn't really a thing as "black comedy ......white comedy" divide

I definitely think there are some definite intracies to comedy but I think the Simpsons, and the Boondocks (To a lesser extent), are kinda beyond that.
The Simpsons, in its prime, that a rich CEO, a redneck CAC, a couple of hood dudes, and a couple of corny dudes could watch and all laugh at the same time.
It's that kinda show.
