Keeping my overhead low, and my understand high
Have yall read the comments on any given YouTube video these days? Positive, funny, and useful comments are usually at the top.

When I read Instagram or Twitter comments it's a fukking race to the bottom on who can make the dumbest comment that will upset the most people.
This is actually very true. Good on YouTube

The bag is too big (and crucial) for them to let things get out of hand while racists run wild.

But it wasn’t always that way and they cleaned it up before it got the way Yahoo news articles used to be and the the current state of IG, Twitter, many news websites and a big chunk of Reddit.

Message boards are the OGs of the extreme BS and hate but there’s too much at stake at YouTube to let it get overrun. YouTube is literally lil bro-ing streaming and TV, supplying its own live TV package along with giving quality content makers a monetized platform. No way they let trolls and bigots mess that up when the ad $ is coming in by the shipload + whatever data folks willingly give up to them.

Best believe the see all the :mjpls: shyt attempting to come to their platform tho

This might be a stupid parallel but maybe because YouTube is owned by google (at its heart a tech company) and Facebook/IG and Twitter are more like media companies

Just a shot in the dark guess :yeshrug:

Sounds very similar to another site. I can't  quite remember the name of it, though :lolbron:

I think YT is the most tightly curated space online. Its datashaping and algo are immense when it comes to deciding what it is they want you to see and its the same for the comments/lack of dislikes in that respect because its one of the prime ways to control public perception these days.

Take a term you want to search for that may have more than one point of view and feed it into YT then try a video search engine and you'll see an immense difference. The other spaces offer the "voice of the people" (along with their own agents in dress, provocateurs etc..) but YT is a prime portal for info and updates therefore it has its own mandates and ideal for what they want revealed and what stays hidden.

Information has never been free. Control has always been the key. Either you see it or you don't because the lines are there to read between.

It’s because Twitter blue pushes people to the top, and mostly stupid and obnoxious people pay for twitter. You will find the most racist and mean spirited absolute dumbasses at the top of just about any popular tweet.

I was just on a tweet where some guy was harassed by a Karen for fishing in his own neighborhood and I had to go through like five “geez why are you guys making this a race thing” ass comments before I got to actual people who see it for what it was.

I don't have a Twitter account, never liked it..but I searched for porn and was led to Twitter. I was absolutely shocked at how open twitter is.

They adopted the reddit upvote system so that goofball shyt stays at the bottom. Twitter and IG still sorts by time of post.

They ain't your friend I'm not giving them props for shyt they're getting paid multi millions fukk em that is the least they should be doing

You think content moderators get paid millions? It’s usually Indians or other low wage earners that scroll through filth daily to clean up. I find it hard that they’ll make anything over $50K annually.
