With his form on his jumper I cant see him not at least being a competent shooter sooner than later. A couple of games ago he was knocking them down and looking comfortable out there taking them. And actually having the confidence to take the jumper is a big part of the battle in itself for most young players with suspect jumpers. Cant get better if you don't actually take them during the games.

He has poor weight distribution on his shot.
You can see it clearly when he shoots free throws.
He lacks the push from his legs and proper lower body mechanics.
Combined with no mental connection to his actual feet when shooting.
It can be fixed but it starts at the line with big guys.
They sometimes never get it because of the disconnect.
to not knowing or having good control of their own real strength and how to regulate it to produce touch with leg drive combined with the shooting mechanic motion.
He could get it but sometimes,...
if they are over six foot seven with this issue they never get it.
Karl Malone, blake griffin and a few others figured it out.
As, Simmons is of the same or similar draft pedigree so he could get it.
Imo, how you hide his inability to transfer leg power to his shot mechanic is have simmons play point. Where his size will compensate for his lack of scoring aggression in a nightly mismatch via physicality.

From what I have seen Simmons being a euro.
was heavily given praise off of projected corporate character and draw from being safe as a euro. Which the NBA values more than anything.
Plus why after bron was drafted and the discovery zone was ended to annoint bron as the top talent of that straight to high school Gen via skill/pedigree/talent/character. they took away the straight to high school rule all via corporate character projections of the incoming players.

Right now, Simmons is a much safer earlier career Jason Kidd meets rondo on giant size juice.
with none of the American aggression or ferocity. Mixed with a high character pedigree where he can fit into any environment.
Whereas rondo needed doc as a former prodigy pedigreed point from Chicago to meld with rondo to become actualized as a pro.
Or in the Kidd case he makes the team better from an intangible stand point.
with the added benefit of possibly imposing his will physically at the pg position like kidd did. while being way way bigger.
I don't see magic at all in this kid like i saw with bron past the prodigy based vision.
If Simmons develops a shot.
I see him as the black Stockton with magic kidd level vision..yet his lack of ferocity could lead to the inability.
to fully galvanize a group to win the big one just like Stockton.

Simmons playing the point won't help his scoring, he's afraid of smaller players and the rim

Had the :merchant: when he ran into Aaron Craft while driving to the rim, and promptly kicked the ball back out to the corner

yep...20 in 4 days tho. Dude has so much time.

Right now he is 6'10 rondo.

2 years from now he could be hitting that 38% clip for three and that 80% mark from the FT line.

Dude has all the tools
People are still goin to be shytting on him. He's one of those type of players

But Ben has good form from the field and the line. He's not like early Bron out there who while he had a better jumper than Ben at this point he was changing his release point and form up every game it seems. Ben just needs to play his game and his range will expand naturally as he gets older. If he is only good from 18 foot and in then that is where he should stay until he gets better from further out.
