It's simply the wrong call. Megatron got the TD even before the ball touched the ground.

I thought the rule was you had to control the ball through the fall to the ground in which Megatron didn't. But what contradicts this rule is any other play the play is dead once the ball crosses the plane entering the endzone.

The difference is you have to maintain possession of the ball throughout the catch until you hit the ground. When players score by crossing the plane they always have clear possession of the ball. There is a difference. They look at catches in the endzone the same way they look at it on any part of the field. They would have called that a incomplete pass if he caught that ball at the 20, and nobody could argue it.

It's still a dumb rule either way.
