A new testament in basketball
And the San Antonio Spurs are only a half game OUT of the playoffs themselves
Teams that have dissapointed more than the Lakers
After a 1-9 start, Los Angeles Lakers fans are calling for the firing of Mike Brown…or is it Mike D’Antoni? In fact, they are still smarting over the organization not hiring New York Knicks President Phil Jackson. After all, the Bockers are 3-8, a robust 2 wins more than the Lakers. Take that Jimmy Buss!
The Lakers aren’t the only team disappointing their fans 1/8 into the season. The following squads have so far not lived up to expectations:

The Lakers aren’t the only team disappointing their fans 1/8 into the season. The following squads have so far not lived up to expectations:
-
Oklahoma City Thunder - Sure Kevin Durant has been out with injury, but All-Star Russell Westbrook, Serge Ibaka, and big men Kendrick Perkins and Steven Adams are more than enough to not leave the reeling OKC Thunder with a 3-8 record.
-
New York Knicks – After being spurned by Steve Kerr for the Golden State Warriors, the Knicks gave Lakers legend Derek Fisher a lucrative five-year $25 million-dollar contract without having any formal coaching experience. Carmelo Anthony was courted by a number of teams before eventually deciding to return to New York for near max money. But Melo and crew have had trouble figuring out the Triangle Offense, and the Knicks are an abysmal 3-8 as a result.
-
Cleveland Cavaliers – It’s almost laughable to hear Cavs fans talk about “forgiving” LeBron James and “accepting” him back in Cleveland, as if the economy in Ohio didn’t in large part depend on it. We still smell the smoke from the effigies they were sacrificing of him in front of Quicken Loans Arena. Still, LBJ took the high road and returned to his home state. But the Cavs have gotten out of the gate a little slower than expected, and their 5-4 record matches the New Orleans Pelicans through nine games, meaning the Cavs currently would not be a playoff team in the Western Conference.
