I was their age back then. It was really the first time I realized how much this world hated black kids.

What I'll NEVER forget was how at the same time there were four white boys out of neighboring New Jersey who were accused of sexually assaulting a mentally challenged female classmate. They used a baseball bat to penetrate her.....and they didn't get 1/10th near that vitriol spit at these innocent kids.

This is definitely a must watch - One of the central park five was a personal trainer at a gym i went to. He was good dude man, always giving tips on working out. He was the quiet type, you could tell he had been through something. When i found out he was one them i was like - its a real shame that he had to go through all that. I'm from Harlem, could have easily been me or one of my boys...A real travesty man! Great documentary! My wife was at a lost for words afterwards.

There's something about Korey Wise that shows this affected him waaaay more than the others. I feel so bad for everything they went through, along with their families. We need to do a lot more to protect our own, especially the babies. But they were all taken advantage of.

That case should have been halted when the DNA didn't match and the DA came up with that crazy story of a phantom rapist. This shows a black life ain't worth shyt and some people wanna stay oblivious to our reality. Imagine the many more innocent lives locked away that aren't in the news. smh

It's cos he got sent to rikers at 16 years old, he might've been raped for all we know? He mentioned being involved in jumpings and stabbings, even has a scar on his face in the later interviews.

The confessions were , but I can see why they did it, but the one whose mum and dad were in the room, why didnt they intervene? Not one asked for a lawyer? Naive at best and fukking idiots at worse.

If the one guy on the jury who thought they were innocent had kept to his innocent verdict, would they have got off or a retrial?

And as for it being racist, everyone needs to watch paradise lost documentary, that's even better than this one.

But great doc, sad to watch, but the film makers did a great great job on it.

Korey wise also cane across as a bit slow, don't know whether this was because he was slightly dead, but when he's saying he saw Kevin Richardson hit the woman with the rock, even the interviewer knows he's saying it just to please her, sad.

Also, the dad who left his son and mother out to dry during the court case, .

And they were all so happy when the rapist confessed, but tbh, I think all I would've felt was anger, why didnt he confess earlier?

Korey wise has done over 10 years, I guess it's good he helped them finally and maybe when he was young he didnt care?

Amazing that, if korey didnt kinda forgive him for an earlier fight in rikers, he probably wouldn't have ever confessed.

One of the best docs I've seen in ages.
