its a 14 part series chronicling the civil rights movement. :whew: It covers so much and It also dispels many of the coli myths about the civil rights movement. If you as black person can do anything at the very least educate yourself about your history.

Some of the coli myths:
" in the civil right movement all they did was sing and protest." False!
Their were several economic boycotts and movements. The most famous being the the Montgomery bus boycott.

"they didn't invest in black business" False!
:beli: This is a dumb ass statement considering black people had no choice but to use black owned businesses. They didn't mind using black business and being in a black community. Originally the movement ideology was separate but "more humane" treatment as coretta points out.

"Martin Luther King was a pacifist " False!
mlk applied for permit to carry a concealed handgun, unfortunately it was extremely hard for blacks to be granted permits they were often labeled as "unsuitable". They couldn't even vote yet dumb motherfukkas assume these white people were going let them have guns. :martin:

Also Martin Luther King was kinda thrusted into his position. He didn't really have a strategic non violent plan at First. He didn't know much about Ghandi and non violent tactics.

:wow:Wow such a great series. President Dwight D Eisenhower said " you try to go to fast in laws in this delicate field that involves the emotions of so many Americans your making a mistake. I believe we got to have laws that go along with education and understanding.i believe if you go beyond that in any one time you cause trouble, rather than benefit." :scust: Y'all can see he didn't give a fukk. Trying rationalize segregation.

Eyes on the prize is a very good documentary. I would point out that it covers a lot more than just the civil rights movement, though.

Your right thats why it's a good documentary. It gives you an entire glimpse of the 1950 - 1970 era.

I find it interesting that certain people like to claim their not racist and their people didn't own slaves. And that white people where discriminated against too. Whose grandparents and parents are rioting and screaming at black people then?
