Not hate, just ignorance and curiosity towards westerners. You may be the only black person they will ever meet in their life .
I'd compare it to the feeling when you meet an albino person for the first time in the West.
It's not uncommon for random people in those East Asian countries to just invite you to dinner just off of your novelty factor as a black person. Especially once you leave the big metropolises. but this isn't necessarily unique to black people. They do the same thing to white people once again due to novelty since these countries are 95% Asian.
Now if you want to see true racism and hatred, ask them their opinion about their fellow neighbors. A Chinese person will talk about a Korean or a Japanese person like a dog. A Japanese person will behave the exact same way about Koreans and Chinese. Same for South Koreans. The vitriol that those East Asians have for each other is wild
