Got a finished basement and my sump pump went out last week so I got about 1/4 inch of water all over the floor. Had to go buy a big shop vac to get all the water up. I made at least 15 trips up and down the stairs with a shop vac full of water. shyt was heavy and after 7 or 8 trips my back was fukked.

After 250 for a new sump pump and back pain for I'm sure a couple weeks the basement is dry and I got my chill spot back. I made sure to buy the biggest baddest sump pump on the market bc I never want to do this shyt again.

:what:

Wtf is a sump pump? We don't have basements in Miami...

Shiiit, at least you got your monthly workout in with all that heavy lifting.

I almost fukked up and paid the AC company $50 to come check out a leak in my new unit...even when the AC was off I still felt air coming out the vents.

Turns out i just had the fan running:whew:

A sump pump collects all the water from rain/snow that would go under your foundation. Instead all that water goes into a well in the basement. The sump pump is in the bottom of that well and pumps that water back outside through a big long hose. My pump quit working and the well in the basement floor filled up and started overflowing. At least it was clean water though and not dookie water.

Oh one tip I will give though if you make the decision to buy a house familiarize yourself with basic plumbing, electrical, and construction work. Being somewhat competent in those areas will save your ass. Hit YouTube and start watching videos. Before last week I barely knew how a sump pump worked. After watching a few videos I was able to install the pump on my own since I already had some basic experience with plumbing. Doing it myself probably saved me a few hundred in labor costs.

I feel the backyard you can do on your own.

Bathrooms tho:whoa:

Make sure you get a quality company...

Anybody on Angie's list?

Not even like re-tiling and shyt like that? I'd get someone to do the plumbing and that type of shyt. I have a few friends that do remodeling but I wanna do some of the stuff on my own.

IN. I owe a house currently working on re-sealing the outside caulking around the windows before I start painting the interior. I can't imagine how much that would cost if I hired someone. The reason I'm doing the caulking is due to a draft I felt during the winter. That furnace kicking on and off all winter is costing me too much.

My brother recently added a nice sitting area to his backyard. Got me really wanting to do something.

He actually added even more to it for shade and comfort purposes. I haven't taken any pics of that, though.

Something simple I'ma do is buy one of these screens to start hanging out in the garage on some old man shyt:flabbynsick:

 That will add value to that house. I was looking at adding a flower bed to the front yard to at least get some curb appeal. My neighbors are ahead of the game :sadcam:I'm sure they are looking at me with the
