The Coli's Video Game Tournaments Thread

We have a solid fighting game community it seems yet I see no threads on any tournaments that go on outside of Evo despite this happening year round. There should also be tournaments hosted here with prizes that will attract people and get activity going, not just for fighting games but in general.

After seeing this posted in the thread discussing the split between video game and movie/tv shows it made me instantly think about how much we don't do shyt like this. We can sit and argue all day about which company is better, which is cool and all...but how about we turn that into which poster is better at specific video games? channel all that fan boy rage into giving each other that work in various video games, which would be more fun that posting all day about how much *insert company* sucks.

I'm starting this thread to open the dialogue that may hopefully lead to us coming together and creating tournaments for all consoles and the games we enjoy playing on them. We have guys on here that play fighters and shooters (2 of the more popular brands of competitive games out there)...so I don't think this should be too difficult for us to come together and get some shyt poppin.

Share your ideas and list the games and consoles you own that you would play in a tourney so i can compile a list to help make this easier for us.

It should not just be that game alone saving us though. A game is considered dead because no one is playing it. The game does not have to be new just to be competitive enough to have a tournament.

there are a lot of games out NOW that we could be using for coli tournaments....we don't need to wait for a specific game to drop (especially one that won't come out till november)..

True...cook just ran a rap battle tourney (which I was a part of) and had some decent giveaways which helped with the activity of it...but I know a lot of the guys did it for the competitive aspect. I'm super competitive with video games and I know a couple guys on here that are competitive as well...there are a lot of casual players but i'm open to have as many ppl as possible for each respective tournament just to have as many of the coli participating as possible.

I agree with you, I'd compete just for bragging rights. I just bring up prizes for initial attraction. I don't know too many people on this site who win just to win.

down for almost every fighting game available on the Xbox platforms. Some games online modes have a tournament feature built in so it shouldn't be hard to organize. Don't know which ones off the top of my head, I'll have to check when I get home
