Great episode

Urban clothing designer Karl Kani credits brand success to TV exposure on Yo MTV Raps

Lyor Cohen managed Ed Lover early on.

Ed Got punched by Mike Tyson

He was Close with Pac

MC Hammer was a Christian rapper at first

CJ did not have to interupt or interject too much on this one. I know some listeners complain about that. Ed Lover is a seasoned and capable story teller.

Great stuff. Ed will always be the man to me (pun intended). Grew up on him, and glad he's got a syndicated gig in ATL now.

Great point by him about Elvis Duran still being on the air targeting the pop audience at 50+, but he can't in hip hop...especially when he's been around since it really hit mainstream, and owns a big piece of it. He's great at what he does. I guess a big reason is that he was making $800K a year like he said, but also could just be that the hip hop stations probably aren't making the returns a station like z100 is either.

I used to listen to his show on Sirius in the car, and was wondering why it wasn't on anymore.
