Do yall really believe this horseshyt excuse?

The Confederate flag is and always will be a racist symbol and a symbol of white pride, white Power, white supremacy, etc. When white people rock that in cities that aren't in the south and places that aren't in the south...you should know what the deal is.

That's why I think Kanye still fukked up for trying to "appropriate" the flag for the Yeezus tour merch. When you have your white fans even saying that wasn't cool at all...yeah, you fukked up breh.

I'm gonna bite the bullet and go out on a limb:
Black people appropriated the 'N' word, and gave it a meaning of camaraderie.
The Confederate flag is unabashedly a southern symbol, and yes, can be a symbol of southern pride.

Both things have their controversies as they attempt to re-engineer the symbolism behind their origins. The thing is, the 'N' word
was never meant to have a positive meaning, hence it's controversy to this day.

On the other hand, the confederate flag wasn't meant to strictly be a symbol of racism, it just happened to be the primary emblem of
a society that openly accepted racism. It isn't inherently racist, but it's history is fukked because many of the people who held it near and
dear happened to be racist. The North v South issues were about more than race, as any coli-historian will tell it, and it just so happens
we look at their banner as the symbol of the scum of the time and beyond.

There was a time that this didn't incite anger and sorrow, and it's now universal taboo is because of
a regime that in the grand scheme were a blip in history.

Ask hindus how they feel about their symbol and its evolution into a symbol of hate. I imagine many southern
people honestly look to the Confederate flag as old southern pride and are not racist, however, we aren't far removed from the memory of the kind
of men who held that flag. By holding it up, they also have to acknowledge what it came to be at a very ghastly time in American history. It is what it is.

Here's my thang with the chit:

I can understand different territories respecting their heritage and wanting smaller government for determination.
HOWEVER:

- part of that chit was wanting human property. That's part of it. That part is racist.
So you can't fly that flag and THEN act like you don't understand why people would think it's racist.

- you could fly the flag all day if you won the Civil War. BUT YOU DIDN'T!!
YOU LOST, MAYNE! LOL
You are a "United State", and we ain't wit' dat sheeit. To fly that flag anywhere in the USA is (*gasp*)...

wait for it...

UN-AMERICAN!

You right. But check this, doe.

Like you said:

Black people appropriated the 'N' word, and gave it a meaning of camaraderie.

There are people who have done the knowledge and say the "N" word, was always that!

But again - through time, it has been used against us in a mocking fashion so it has another connotation now.
I think that solidifies your point.

Straight out of the horses mouth. VP of the Confederacy

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cornerstone_Speech

Our new Government is founded upon exactly the opposite ideas; its foundations are laid, its cornerstone rests, upon the great truth that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery, subordination to the superior race, is his natural and normal condition.[1]

Don't fall for the okey doke brehs :camby:

Yea, history is a cold bytch, it doesn't lie. I said it before but when i came on the coli, I was fast and loose with the 'N' word, then I realized
when i was talking to certain "pro-blacks" who obviously weren't about that life, I was telling them "Don't speak it if you don't do it."

I don't use the word in real life, not even in the company of my people. The word has no use to me, so I stopped cold turkey.
I don't want to perpetuate the bullshyt. No problem if others want to use the word, but fukk it, it ain't me.

Those damn cacs know they're full of shyt with that bs :birdman: Don't nobody believe their racist ass :pacspit:

And the black folk in the souf that fly that flag are c00ns.
Exactly.

IRL when I see a white person with a confederate flag either on a t-shirt, or on their car I just automatically assume they're racist.

That's good though for me anyways...let's me know who to avoid.

It absolutely was a symbol of racism. The government was built specifically to be a racist society where black people were subjugated to whites.

I feel that.

I personally think black people need to officially stop using that term...but that's for another thread.

Yea, I hate to pre-judge people, however, seeing a confederate flag is a sign that you need to avoid that person.
They can be ignorant of its meaning, which is one thing. Insensitive at best, racist at worst. Best course of action? Don't fukk with
that person.

Yes yes yes.

That flag is not in good company. Anytime I tend to see it in large numbers, I usually in pictures of white power rallies alongside the nazi/swastika flag and the SS/88 flag. There is no denial of what that flag means period.
