LeBron is the epitome of someone who not only lived up to his potential but exceeded it.
I'm convinced that the people who hate on LeBron have failed to live up to their own potential in life.
Reminding everybody that Jordan is better than LeBron makes them feel better somehow.
People remember that LeBron was on the cover of SI magazine as the 'Chosen One' as a high school junior!
For most people that level of hype ends up as BS that no one can ever match, much less exceed.
But LeBron did.
And unlike other players, he was great right away.
At no time could someone ever say LeBron failed to live up to the "Chosen One" hype.
So the goalposts changed and people began to say, "Yeah, LeBron is great but he's not the greatest player in any sport of all time."
Jordan existed in a pre-social media era where it was possible to be universally loved.
In today's era, people pick a team of their favorite entertainers and live through them.
