LeBron is the epitome of someone who not only lived up to his potential but exceeded it.
I'm convinced that the people who hate on LeBron have failed to live up to their own potential in life.
Reminding everybody that Jordan is better than LeBron makes them feel better somehow.

People remember that LeBron was on the cover of SI magazine as the 'Chosen One' as a high school junior!
For most people that level of hype ends up as BS that no one can ever match, much less exceed.
But LeBron did.
And unlike other players, he was great right away.
At no time could someone ever say LeBron failed to live up to the "Chosen One" hype.
So the goalposts changed and people began to say, "Yeah, LeBron is great but he's not the greatest player in any sport of all time."

Jordan existed in a pre-social media era where it was possible to be universally loved.
In today's era, people pick a team of their favorite entertainers and live through them.

I'm a LeBron fan been one since after his ESPN high school game that was aired against Chino.
Not everybody going to like everyone. It's just reality. Lebron for all his good traits he isn't without flaw. Sometimes people that are fans of Bron feel people who are not fans should be obligated to like him because his good traits. That's not the case and that's ok.

Apply OP's sentiment to any athlete today and it rings true.

Appreciate how skilled all of these people are. They're just passing through time. Once it's over, it's over.

Back in the day literally everyone wanted to "Be like Mike" or wear Jordans.
Even fans of opposing teams.
Nowadays that's not possible, and that's OK too.

Its not possible because Michael Jordan is the prototype nikka. Lebrons career is literally just a copy of MJs resume with a few qualifications missing. His entire marketing is based off of what MJ already built.

One day someone will come along and do things Jordan never did and elevate the game to a new level, that guy just wasn’t Lebron.
